also visit DeMille's Farm Market and Gort's Gouda Cheese Farm.
4. Restaurants: Are you
looking for a good restaurant, well the Shuswap has some great
choices. Statis Mediterranean Grill, Copper Island Pub, Log N'
Hearth, Sunset Cove Marina & Grill, The Barley Station, Blue Canoe, Shuswap Pie Company,
as well as Thai and Sushi too.
5. Music: The
Routes and Blues Festival takes place on the third weekend of every
August at the Salmon Arm Fairgrounds, a picturesque 18 acre park in
the centre of beautiful Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Roots
and Blues si a three day music festival, on six stages during the
day and 2 main stages at night. Routes and Blues offers 8
glorious days of Shuswap exploration, trying regional communities,
stops of interest,
Shuswap Trail Alliance hikes and other outdoor activities,
regional food, community meals, and satellite concerts al together
in an experiential smorgasbord. Don't forget Wednesday
on the Wharf.
6. Sockeye Salmon Run:
The Shuswap is world famous for the Sockeye Salmon Run.
Millions of Salmon return to Adams River each October with an exceptionally large
run every four years.
7. Outdoor Activities:
The Shuswap has a large range of activities for you to choose from.
The hiking and biking trails are exceptional including the Balmoral
Bluff Trail System and Margaret Falls. If you would like to go
horseback riding try the Skimikin Lake Equestrian Recretional Site
and Trails or the Blind Bay White Lake Trail System in the South

Lake is very large and has an array of marinas and docks. Hit
the water for houseboating, motorboating, white water rafting on
Adams River, kayaking, canoeing, and SUP Boarding. If you enjoy fishing

9. Galleries and Museums: There are many galleries and
small boutiques in the Shuswap with crafts, paintings, scupltures
all hand crafted from local artisans. Visit the SAGA Public
Art Gallery or the R.J Haney Heritage Village and Museum to take a
peak into the history Shuswap.
10. Culture and Events:
The Shuswap enjoys Canada Day with Fireworks, Parades and Music.

The trails have many geocache locations and are great for
the whole family. The Balmoral Bluffs trailhead is located 0.5
Km south of A Roverís Rest Bed & Breakfast on Balmoral Road
and has a good parking area and restroom facilities.
These mountain bike and hiking trails would be excellent
enjoyment and remarkably beautiful for the family and active
individual. The new John Evnakemoff CSRD Mountain Bike Park
at White Lake is a great place to start on a biking adventure,
and this this trail links back to the Balmoral Bluffs
trailhead which is only .5 km south of our home.
The Shuswap is home to many artists. Potters, painters, quilters, spinners, weavers, carvers, and a host of others find the Shuswap a mecca for artistic
endeavours. Be sure to visit some of the outstanding artisans of the area. Take part in an art exhibition, a pottery show, or see carvings of birds so realistic you won't believe their feathers are wood. Visit our local porcelain factory and watch an artist-in-residence hand paint exquisitely fragile-looking creations. †
