21st Century Pligrims ~ Walking on Holy Ground June 30 to July 6  Five inspirational day hikes with Phil McIntrye-Paul.  These day hikes draw wisdom from natural world.  Each hike explores a new location in the Shuswap and is framed in prayer, reflection and sharing to mark the 21st Century Pilgrims series.  Hikes are at a moderate difficulty and require good walking shoes.  Be prepared for full day hikes of approx 3-5 hoursand some sections will include sustained uphill hiking.  Tour Organized by Sorrento Centre.  For more information go to 21st Century Pilgrims Hiking Tours

One of the feature activities in the South Shuswap area are the remarkable hiking and mountain bike trails. The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), Shuswap GeoQuest and the Shuswap Trail Alliance have been working together to provide world-class non-motorized trails for safe public use. The trails have many geocache locations and are great for the whole family. The Balmoral Bluffs trailhead is located 0.5 Km south of A Rover’s Rest Bed & Breakfast on Balmoral Road and has a good parking area and restroom facilities.

Shuswap Lake is one of the largest lakes in British Columbia’s Okanagan. Shuswap Lake has over 1,000 km of shoreline. We often see deer on the property, as well as the many birds and squirrels.

A Rover's Rest Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of British Columbia's Okanagan interior resort play land. We are located in Blind Bay, near Sorrento and Salmon Arm cities and it is halfway between Vancouver, BC and Calgary, Alberta. You can find us just 1.8 km (a tad more than a mile) off the Trans Canada Highway on Balmoral Road. A large circular driveway allows us to accommodate your vehicle and boat or snowmobile trailer easily— no unhooking if you like.

Our handcrafted, romantic log home bed and breakfast has many features: our museum of antiques; 2 guest fireplaces; a jetted, heart-shaped tub; wrought-iron beds in all guest rooms; snack and beverage centre which includes a wide selection of Stash Tea; quiet areas; an ever-expanding book and video library; a large deck with a gorgeous view; and outdoor benches and tables. The eight person hot tub spa is located at the back of our home in a quiet area with a great view of the lake.
