Detailed Description of the Adams River Sockeye
Salmon Run Package
Your
first day will start with an early check in when arriving to A Rover’s
Rest Bed & Breakfast at approximately 2 PM on day one. Once settled in,
you can drive or can be driven to two of our local wineries, while there
you will receive a private tasting and tour. Recline Ridge Vineyards and
Winery and Granite Creek Estates Wines are both respectively known for
their award winning selections of wines. You will be departing with a
complimentary bottle of wine from each location. From there you will
head to Table 24 for a romantic dining experience just for you.
After dinner you may enjoy many of the properties amenities that have
awarded this bed and breakfast a four star rating with Canada Select.
Submerge yourself in our large outdoor hot tub, enjoy a relaxation
massage, read a book by the fire, watch a movie, or just spend some
quality time with your partner.
Day two will start with a hearty
award winning breakfast served in the
sun room.
A private tour of Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park will follow where
you can see the salmon up close and be given tour provided by the
Adams River Salmon Society.
After your morning stroll of viewing the Salmon Run, a mid–day meal will
be enjoyed at a local Restaurant. After lunch a stop
by Rustic Mountain Market for an opportunity to purchase local art
before arriving at Crannóg
Ales,
where you will sample ales from the first certified organic, on-farm
micro-brewery in Canada. This zero-waste brewery produces multiple award
winning beers, including the Backhand of God Stout and Hell’s Kitchen,
both are only available in British Columbia. The remaining free
afternoon, gives you a chance to visit an art gallery, take in a short
round of golf, schedule a relaxation massage, take a boat ride to the
mouth of the river, or explore the Shuswap on your own.
A relaxing dining experience at
Stratis Mediterranean Grill located in the community of Sorrento will
await you this evening. Then it is back to A Rover’s Rest Bed &
Breakfast for a relaxing evening. The finale is another famous
breakfast, before you start your drive home or to your next destination.
Your holiday will include two nights stay at a four star Bed &
Breakfast, two award winning bottles of wine, two romantic dinners, a
mid-day meal, two award winning breakfasts, optional ground
transportation during the scheduled tours, and many private tours all
from $630 to $1,030. Relaxation massage, museum tours, boat tours, and
golf can be arranged for an additional fees. This private tour requires
a 2 couple minimum for reservations.

The weather in the Shuswap can be very unpredictable
in October. It is advisable to bring warm, waterproof clothing as well
as suitable footwear for strolling along the river bank. Cameras
are essential… The autumn colors are usually at their most
breathtaking during the Salute to the Salmon, making a camera and memory
cards or color film an important piece of equipment for capturing
memorable moments during your visit to the Shuswap. You may also find
that a polarizing filter is useful for reducing the sunlight reflections
off the water to allow clear photographs of crimson salmon beneath the
surface. Pack along plenty of memory cards and film, as your particular
needs may not be available on site.
